Erna Solberg graduated from the University of Bergen with a master’s degree in sociology, political science, statistics and economics. Solberg was Minister of Local Government and Regional Development in Kjell Magne Bondevik’s second government between 2001 and 2005. She has been a member of parliament for Hordaland since 1989. Solberg was the parliamentary leader for Høyre (the Conservative Party) until 2013, and was a member of the parliamentary health and care services committee, the extended foreign affairs and defence committee and the election committee between 08.10.2009 and 30.09.2013. She has also been a member of the finance and economic affairs committee and the local government and public administration committee, and the head of the parliament’s delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. Solberg has been the leader of Høyre since 2004. Erna Solberg has been Prime Minister since 2013, and started her second term after parliamentary elections in 2017.
