Vegar has an MSc in Engineering cybernetics from NTNU in 1997 and a PhD in Marine cybernetics from 2007. He has worked with business development and applied research in various roles within ocean industries since 1998. With special focus on technology development, he has contributed to the development of products and solutions in several sectors, including fisheries, aquaculture and offshore marine operations. Vegar is also keen to realise the potentials of new ocean industries, and works hard to find and develop opportunities present in our resource-rich ocean areas.
